Credit Card Program Updates

Competition heats up with premium travel credit cards:

• Citi launched the Strata Elite ($595)

• Chase refreshed the Sapphire Reserve ($795)

• American Express is refreshing the Platinum ($895 rumored)

• BILT is launching its own premium card with Cardless ($495 rumored)

• Bank of America releases the Alaska Atmos Rewards Summit card ($395)

More competition means more options to choose a card best fit for you. But we know that can be overwhelming, so we can help with that.

Transfer Partners is the new currency

• Mesa (the mortgage card) adds Accor Hotels, Qantas, Air France/KLM, Virgin Austrlia, Thai Airways, Air India, Hainan Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines

• Citi Strata cards now allow transfers to American Airlines 1:1

Airline Program Updates

• Southwest Partnership with EVA Airways: Last time Southwest partnered with Icelandair so you could book flights on Southwest.com to Iceland. Now Southwest has partnered with EVA Airways for routes to Taiwan. Remains to see if points bookings will be allowed.

• Singapore Airlines devaluation: On November 1 you’re going to need more miles for redemptions with Singapore Airlines - 5% increase on economy and business for flights from the US. Partner awards are devaluing around 10% (One Mile At A Time)
