Having a Player 2

WuhooPoints New Interview Podcast

In our most recent WuhooPoints interview, we discussed the topic of having a "Player 2" in the world of points and miles, shedding light on the advantages of involving a spouse or partner in the pursuit of travel rewards.

For those unfamiliar with the term, a "Player 2" refers to a spouse or significant other who actively participates in the points and miles game alongside their partner. This can bring numerous benefits, including:

  • Diversification of credit card applications: With two individuals applying for credit cards, it becomes easier to diversify the points and miles you earn, ensuring that you have access to various rewards programs.

  • Pooling of points and miles: By combining the points and miles earned by both individuals, you can build larger balances more quickly, leading to bigger and better rewards redemptions.

  • Sharing travel benefits: Having a Player 2 means that both individuals can enjoy the travel benefits provided by certain credit cards, such as lounge access, travel credits, and elite status.

  • Maximizing referral and authorized user bonuses: Some credit card companies offer bonuses for referring a new cardholder or adding an authorized user. By involving a Player 2, you can take advantage of these opportunities and earn even more rewards.

Credit Card Tier List Summary

For new subscribers, I’ve been ranking the most popular US personal credit cards on Instagram.

  1. Bank of America Allegiant Air - Waste of Money | Not many perks for an airline card with an annual fee.

  2. Bank of America Free Spirit Travel More - Useless | Doesn’t have enough perks to really justify the annual fee.

  3. Bank of America Free Spirit Travel - Useless | Even fewer perks on the no annual fee card.

  4. Mercury Financial Free Spirit Points Plus - Useless | Even more useless than the Bank of America counterpart since this card is invite-only and has a lower bonus.

  5. Mercury Financial Free Spirit Points - Useless | Nothing helpful to mention.

  6. Barclays Arrival Plus - Useless | Had potential, but now it’s not open to applications and doesn’t have great transfer ratios.

  7. Aven - Niche | For the select few homeowners that can utilize the 2% back and home equity backing.
