Best Card to Get in 2026 Q2
And an honorable mention
Recently, I’ve been helping my client with redemptions for airlines in the OneWorld alliance - either out of loyalty or by forced route choice. If this seems to apply to you, I would consider two of these cards to help get sweet redemptions on American Airlines, Alaska, and plenty of other international partners.
Right now, the welcome bonus for this card is an elevated 75,000 AA miles after spending $5,000 over 5 months, which is pretty doable for most. The $99 annual fee is also waived in the first year making this a “free” card if you cancel next year. So, what do 75,000 points get you?

The personal card is also a similar format, but we suggest going with the business to damper the effect on your personal credit and allow you to close the card freely. Don’t think you qualify for a business card? Think again - we can help.
Weekly Credit Card Tip #57
Alaska points are sometimes even better redemptions for American and other OneWorld partners, with business class going to Europe as low as 45,000 points. This card has the normal bonus of 100,000 points after spending $6,500, so even with the $395 annual fee, you’ll already have thousands of dollars of potential redemption value.
And here’s a couple other benefits to highlight:
8 Alaska lounge passes
3x back on foreign transactions - perfect for your upcoming summer travels abroad
Boost towards OneWorld status
