An App for your Credit Card Pain Points?
Watch our newest episode with the CardPointers Head of Growth and Partnerships
I’ve been trying out CardPointers for a few months now so I can give you an unbiased opinion. It’s an app made for credit card hobbyists like you and me - to help with all the credit card management and making sure we get the full value from our credit cards.
I also had Brooke, the Head of Growth and Partnerships come on my latest podcast to share about some cool updates they have in their v7 launch. Take a watch!
What I love
The monthly automated email I get that tells me all the credits I need to use. I typically remember them in my head, but it helps to have something to cross the list off with.
The ability to manage cards for P2. The secondary profile I created for my wife can be added to my own profile so I can see our household’s set of cards.
The feature to automatically add credit card offers so you don’t have to click one-by-one on all your cards to add these coupons.
What I like
Autopilot - letting you know which card to use at a store - not just by the earn rate, but by the offers you’ve added to the card. This is helpful not just for convenience, but so you’re not buying more things just because you’ve seen X offer.
What I don’t care for
CardPointers boasts about their privacy measures - mainly the fact that they don’t actually login and access your accounts directly. While this is beneficial, it means you do have to do a little bit more extra work to mark when you’ve achieved a SUB or spent a credit.
My verdict
I personally wouldn’t pay for the non free features on CardPointers+ simply because I have a different style of using cards and - to be a little arrogant - I’m smart enough to remember things. This is what I mean 1) I’m almost always chasing sign-up bonuses or working on my Hyatt card spend, so I don’t really need to know which card to use at X store. 2) If I do need to decide which card, I already know because I live and breathe all this credit card stuff anyways.
But, I know many of you are NOT as deep into the credit card game as me, so I think it’s a useful tool that will help earn your more points and save you more money in a seamless manner. My recommendation is to try out the free version and see what you like from there.
If you’re ready to to get CardPointers+, I’d appreciate it if you use my affiliate link.
